Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received heard from me, or seen in me, put into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:8-9

Sometimes it is hard for me to be the biblical optimist that this passage prescribes. I see life as a many coloured fabric, but here we are told to see it always with the eyes of virtue.

Colossians 3:2

This verse doesn’t mean that we are not responsible for our lives or it is ok to avoid hard situations. As God’s child, when we believe that verse, no matter what we go through, our hope is in heaven. It gives us extreme strength and relief to go through each day.

Psalm 119:10-11

This is something I really need and want to work on as well. I think I want to seek God with all my heart, but sometimes other things seem more important. That I truly need to put my life in God’s hands so that I can truly seek him out without worrying about every detail of my life no matter how big or small.

God is so amazing and big. When I read the part “the holy spirit searches out our inmost being”, I thought ‘God will show me the deepest problems & sins of my heart.’ That is true. He can. But for this time, God choose to show me the deepest desires, hopes & dream that he put in my heart.

Hebrews 13:14

This one is a little personal for me because I’m too focused on trying to find a home here on Earth. A big reason I want to move overseas is because I’ve never really felt like the US to be home. When I was traveling around Asia and staying in Korea, the countries felt a lot more like home to me than the US ever has. I need to remember that my home is not here on earth. It is heaven with God.

The second temptation to Jesus, very much similar to the first commandment. I’m driven away from service to God sometimes. Which is why whenever I go to church I’m really blessed by the communion if saints you all experience together.

This passage is the opening to psalm 139. This psalm is about the omniscience of God in our lives. I take special comfort from the fact that God is familiar with all my ways. And that He is never far from me. He knows me inside and out.

God is not a man, that he should lie nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Numbers 23:19

God is almighty. He does not make a mistake all the time and His plan fulfills through people. We cannot see beyond our nose, so it is blessed to live walking with God on our daily life.

He and all his men went to Baalah in Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, the name of the LORD Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim on the ark. They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart with the ark of God on it, and Ahio was walking in front of it. David and all Israel were celebrating with all their might before the LORD, with castanets, harps, lyres, timbrels, sistrums and cymbals. When they came to the Threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. The LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God. Then David was angry because the LORD’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah. David was afraid of the LORD that day and said, “How can the ark of the LORD ever come to me?” He was not willing to take the ark of the LORD to be with him in the Cityof David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the LORD blessed him and his entire household.

2 Samuel 6:1-11

Like you know, this story about Uzzah who tried to catch the ark of God and died.

The reason that God killed Uzzah was because, they didn’t keep the commandment of Numbers 4:15.

But it wasn’t only Uzzah’s fault.

It was also Israelites fault who did’t carry it the way God asked them to. They just used a new cart.

In Exodus 25, we know that the ark of God had rings? Each side of the ark. Because people of Kohath had to carry it (the ring part?) with their shoulders. But they didn’t keep what the Lord say and used a new cart. That’s why the ark of God fell down. When we see that scene, it seems there’s no problem of carrying the Ark of God. But we know that the steps are wrong. When we worship at church, we worship as a habit. These days, I’ve been thinking if Im worshiping God like that too. After i read this scripture, i reminded myself that when i worship, i will put all my heart and get excited of worship time!

I have always found this text important in my life. My mother quoted it to me often. I continue to try to apply the word “all” as in ‘in all your ways’ appropriately. I keep trying to include my whole life in serving the Lord.

For this week, I faced to the uncomfortable conversation with my bible study member. I was so nervous and wanted to avoid uncomfortable thing to do. But like this verse, I had no idea what to say or how to say. I just trust our God and opened my mouth. He gave the perfect answer for the situation. As long as we’re willing to trust God, he gives us peace & goodness not hurt or confusion.

Meditations of July 3rd

For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Philippians 2:13

When I live in daily lives, I sometimes forget that God is in me, so I act by narrow, foolish thought without askind God first.
This scripture remind me that I have to live meaningfully by God’s will and to take a step after askindg God, and everybody was born specially by God’s purpose.

Revelation 3:3

Through my week, I realized how unfaithful I am to God and how much he is faithful to me. He never want to loose me and willing to help us to fight until the end.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:8-9

The Bible is calling out to us from every page, “Repent!” Thanks be to Jesus we have forgiveness when we do repent and confess our sinfulness. However, we cannot claim to be a Christian if we do not acknowledge the sins in our own heart first and bring them before the Holy and living God in confession and repentance every day. If we are judging someone, Jesus stops us, look us in the eyes and says, “What is it to you? YOU follow me.”
